19歳の頃、新聞配達をしていた。 僕は今と変わらず千葉県佐倉市に住んでいて、 ここはとても田舎だった。 そして当時、町には野良犬がいっぱいいた。 僕が担当している家に一匹の飼い犬がいた。 その犬は庭に繋がれていたがとても大人しく、 僕が深夜新聞を配りに行っても一切吠えなかった。 ある時、いつものようにそこへ配りに行くと、 その飼い犬はどこからともなくやって来た野良犬と逢引していた。 僕が庭に入ると、野良犬はびっくりした顔をして逃げようとした。 すると飼い犬は野良犬に「待って！！」と声をかけた。 野良犬は僕と飼い犬を交互に見て、どうして良いかわからない顔をした。 飼い犬は僕に「早く行って！！」と言った。 僕は右手を眉間の辺りに持ち上げて「邪魔してごめんね」と合図した。 飼い犬は「わかったから早く行って！！」と僕を急かした。 野良犬はまだ僕と飼い犬を交互に見ている。 新聞を置いて立ち去る時、CUBのミラー越しに野良犬と飼い犬がまた戯れるのが見えた。 僕はその時初めて、飼い犬が女の子だと知った。 目に見えないものを撮りたいけれど、 僕と世界が重なるのは中々難しい。 犬の目とエネルギーに吸い寄せられたように、 気が付いたら、無心にそこに立っている、 そういう場所に僕は行きたい。 あなたは誰で、僕は誰ですか？ 透き通る蒼いエネルギーに支えられた僕の写真が、 未だ見ぬ他の誰かの姿を照らすことを念います。 色が光になると良いな、と思う。 When I was 19, I was working as a newspaper delivery man. I was living in Sakura city in Chiba prefecture, just as I do now. Sakura was a fairly rural area back then, I used to find stray dogs around. One of the houses on my delivery list had a dog. The dog was on a long leash in the yard, very quiet, did not bark at me at all entering its territory before dawn. One night, when I delivered there, the dog was with a stray dog. As I entered the yard, the stray dog looked startled and tried to run away. Then the house dog called to the stray, "Don't go!". The stray glanced at me and the house dog alternately, not knowing what to do. "Please! Leave soon!" said the house dog to me. "Sorry for interrupting!" I indicated with a gesture. "I know! Just hurry up and go!" the house dog rushed me. The stray was still looking at me and the house dog alternately. As I left the yard having placed the newspaper in the mailbox, I saw the two dogs playing with each other again through the mirror of my Cub. Then I knew for the first time that the house dog was a girl. I am trying to photograph things which I cannot see with my eyes, yet it is rather difficult to make the world and me merging in one. I want to go to a place where I find myself standing mindlessly, as I was captivated by the eyes and energy of those dogs in the night yard. The question always there is, Who you are, and Who I am. I hope that my photographs, supported by the clear blue energy, will illuminate someone else that has yet to be seen.
